Welcome to the new dougtgraham.com
Sunday, August 9, 2009 at 10:05PM Welcome to the new dougtgraham.com, the living portfolio of Doug T Graham, a sophomore Journalism major attending Eastern Illinois University. I've arranged my portfolio into sections that reflect not only the variety of my work but also my obsessive digital organization practices, which to the detriment of my hygiene do not carry over into the physical world.
Some of these categories need explaining.
Home- your current location
European Dispatches- a collection of everything I've written while studying abroad in Europe from August 18th-December 20th 2009. Here you will find links to online blogs created for www.dennews.com and columns published in the Daily Eastern News paper itself.
D.E.N. Portfolio- everything I've written for my college newspaper, the Daily Eastern News, can be found here. To date the news stories and columns I have contributed were as a staff reporter.
Verge Portfolio- All of my contributions to the weekly Art & Entertainment section of my college newspaper can be found here. To date the contributions include news stories, reviews and columns done as a Verge reporter.
College Essays- This section contains not only the essays I've turned in to my Eastern Professors but also the essays I used to get accepted to college and/or win writing contests.
High School Essays- These select papers from my time spent at Lyons Township High School are very important to me- without my positive high school writing experience I wouldn't have had the confidence to declare that my ability to write would become the primary focus of my education. I have the wonderful teachers at LT to thank for that, this section is dedicated to them.
Prose- This section contains all works of fiction I've written and am proud of. This section if is dedicated to Misters Spitsberg and Brown the first of which taught the class in which I realized that I enjoyed writing and the second of which taught the class in which I realized that I loved writing and was certain that I'd made the right decision.
